Small bit of progress on this one . Ive cut the straps(webbing?) from wine foil and painted them white . These have been glued on ready for his backpack and bags etc to be fastened on to the ends. Ive also painted his buttons and a few details on his coat tails , cheers tonyClick image for larger version

Tony, good thing you captioned shoes and not his jewels. :tears-of-joy: Fine job on the kilt. muting it with a little dash of dark wash like a filter is a good advise. Protect it first with a layer of varnish before the filtering.
Everything else is progressing well. I did the same with the belts using old tooth paste tubing.

        Cheers,
        Richard

More nice, clean work Tony. Painting the straps before fixing is the way to go - great stuff.

Bit more done today on the highlander . I’ve fitted his epaulettes and the pouch and small pack on his back . The water bottle has also been added with a wine foil strap and his legs and torso have got acquainted. Next is the big backpack and blanket then it’s just his noggin and rifle , speaking of which , I want to have his bayonet fixed ready ( they don’t like it up em mr mainwaring !) but would appreciate advice from them wot nose about things like this (ie not me!). When fixed does the bayonet sit above the barrel or below and is there a hole in the end of the socket so the gun is still capable of firing with the bayonet fitted? Cheers tonyClick image for larger version
