Hi John
I'm presently sorting through my stash to get a shortlist of kits for this GB.
I have:-
2 x 1/32 Hasegawa FW190D-9
1 x 1/32 Hasegawa FW190A-6
1 x 1/32 Hasegawa FW190A-8
1 x 1/32 ZM Ta152H
AND
1 x 1/24 Trumpeter FW190D-9
All have their fair share of AM and all should be good builds. I'm taking some pics at the weekend for all the GBs I'm involved with and hopefully by then I'll have decided which kit (or kits) I'll be going ahead with for your GB.
Thanks

That 1/24 190 looks rather interesting! Is it a good kit?
I've got the Verlinden detail set, Montex masks, Master armament barrels and SAC replacement U/C to go with the BIG Dora plus some other bits and bobs. I may build it during the course of your GB but, to be honest, I'm kind of leaning toward the 2 Hasegawa 190As.
I'll post a pic here of the kits and AM (if there's room and time) and, who knows, maybe I'll build the lot! After a full year without any model builds I'm really ready to get stuck in now and I intend to be really prolific in the new year!
I don't think I'm going to put my kit choice to a vote as I really do want to build what I 'feel' like doing at the time.
Also, when Revell release the 190A-8 I will probably buy that too, together with all the BIG Sin Eduard stuff I can put in it!
Agh, so many kits sooo little time!
Although I can't wait to start I won't be jumping the gun. I've signed up for a lot next year - the Anti Aircraft, Tornado and (possibly) Panther GBs too. I'll probably start the Kurt Tank GB later in 2018 (around the same time as yourself).
Anyhoo, exciting stuff - bring it on!Comment

In truth, I've read mixed reports - all typical Trumpeter - the usual accuracy issues but generally pleasant enough to build. The plastic looks ok but the real proof is in the building. One accuracy issue that stands out is the line of the piano hinge on the engine cowls. If those hinges existed on the real aircraft as Trumpeter have depicted them then they simply wouldn't open!

I think the only kit trumpeter nailed was their 1/32 Me 262A-1a. Got one in the stash with a BIG ED set and it looks so good
I bought the BIG Dora knowing it's faults, I mean it's the only game in town in that scale so there's no choice. Trumpeter produce some Jaw dropping stuff 1/200 Bismarck, 1/48 U-boat as well as there expanding 1/24 aircraft range. They could (and should) improve their research into some subjects but there's also part of me that thinks they get a disproportional amount of flak for their efforts. Without them there'd be quite a gap in the kit list. And some of their less accurate examples can be brought up to date and build into decent models - I've seen countless great Trumpeter MkV and MkVb Spitfires (a few I've seen on this forum!) and I really like the result I got with their 1/32 Ju87B-2.
Yes Trumpy have their faults but there are few manufacturers (if any) that can claim to be completely accuracy free anyway.
Do you think I should build the Big Dora?Comment

Yes, it's a great kit - I have that too. Their Dauntless is also quality.

The other Trumpeter kits in 1/32 scale that are almost to Tamiya standard are:
The Fairy Swordfish, Dauntless, Avenger and the MIG3
I would thoroughly recommend all of those.
Some like their Wildcat too though I found the cockpit to be very poorly fitting.Comment
