Pete's Eduard FW190A-8

Well having finished my Spit, time to start on this one.
The box:

It seems to have a lot less parts than the Spitfire, just 2 grey sprues plus a clear sprue.

Decals look good, and lots of stencils (oh joy...)

Hope to get started later.

Just be careful of the engine mounting and covers. If you don't get it right then you'll have no end of problems. But....

Thanks Steve. A bit of a slow start, other things have been occupying me!

I will be watching. Eduard are good kits and I should think that this can provide a satisfying result.

Haven't done much except for sorting out the parts that need to be in RLM66. My Vallejo RLM66 was standing for a long time, and is taking a lot of shaking to get it to mix. :disappointed2:

Right although a wingy thing I shall follow, I need to learn about such things !

You won't learn much here John!
I did get some paint on some of the parts, and even get some PE glued on today though. A dry fit of the fuselage halves + cockpit tub + engine:
That looks as if it'll be OK. Then to the start on the PE. I was talking to someone recently who recommended Gorilla Glue Clear for PE, an I saw some for sale on Friday so thought I'd give it a try. It has a good initial 'tack', but doesn't really grip the parts together, if that makes sense? That is, the glue grabs the PE, but then lets it move around to an alarming extent. I think I'll go back to CA or Gator's Grip. Here's the result of the first few parts:

Not looking too bad. I'll see how they look tomorrow.

More PE today.

These handles on the IP are stupidly small!
Broken one off already, but luckily Eduard include some spares.
Glad I had the foresight to leave the rudder pedals attached to the fret while I bent up the heelrest and threaded the foot strap through the buckle:

All in place now:

They've had a touch of RLM66 on the pedals and leather brown on the straps. Should be able to get the fuselage together tomorrow.
Thanks for watching.
