          Morning all,

Lee, Rick and Richard thanks guys:thumb2:, had to make up the pattern on the right-side as the box left that out.

Made a start on the decals last Wednesday and even they had white carrier film and a little of register the wings roundels weren’t all that bad:

Moving on to the fuselage roundel and id letters, this turned out to be a disaster, with parts letting loose during positioning…
With oversized letters too, I decided to remove these, toss them and repainted the affected areas:

Found a Xtradecal sheet with similar markings like these, it’s on its way from the UK now:smiling:
On hold for now, hopefully I can resume work on this one quickly...

Looking very nice. Shame about the decals, but these old dears can be temperamental.

I feel for you Fernando. Had some bad experiences as well with the old ladies. Good thing you found replacements from another source.

              Cheers,
              Richard

Thanks Colin :thumb2: , have found out when more than 20 years old it turns more into a hit or miss affair with most brands

                  Afternoon all,

Having received the replacement decals last week and starting my two weeks off, I immediately went to work applying them:smiling:
Even though for a different scheme, the id-codes looked close enough for me and with many more options on the sheet more can be built with bad decals:

As the wing lens for the light was missing, a replacement was made using clear styrene and Kristal Klear for the rounded edge.

A couple of layers gave the desired shape when dry:thumb2:
The washes, some staining, a good coat of matt, painting the canopy frames and the aerial wire later and she’s finished:
