Funny you should ask Lee, I did use that technique on my MAN 4500 L as you might recall. This time I am going to try a different approach. I have a soda blaster, and I am going to try blasting the tarps after I have sculpted them a bit with a file. If I up the pressure enough, I'm hopping to get a rough canvas look that will give the right look without fussing with tissue paper. If that doesn't work there's always......tissue paper. :thumb2:

Thanks Guys, I'll get on with the detail painting today and if there is time I'll start on washes and weathering. The tarps were carved on with a hobby knife and a "ball" shaped grinder bit in my small bead reaming motor. Does a way better job that my Dremel. then the tarp surfaces were "stippled" with a stiff, short bristled acid brush soaked with MEK to bring up a coarse textured surface. Can't use too much solvent or the plastic becomes gummy.......but you get the idea. Rick H.Comment
