      Nice work Strenko.

My top tip for metal tracks is to bin the wire and use dressmakers pins. The holes in the track are usually .5mm, I use .53mm pins, snip off the pointy end and insert, then snip of the bit still sticking out. No need for glue doing it this way.

Thats a great tip Bob. Would it be possible to use the pin end as the track bolt??

Potentially yes Steve as they are fairly small, though you would need to cut each pin to the right length before fitting.. On the tracks I just did for my King Tiger I snipped them off as they are all on the inside of the tracks.

One thing I noticed is that the burnishing fluid colours/oxidizes the pins as well as the tracks, which is a bonus.

              Bob,

thank you for the insight.. I think I shall be trying that method ...I saw a video to drill a hole into a block of wood after measuring the length needed by the track ...then insert the wire, snip it off at the proper length...suppose I could use that same theory with the pins..

That would absolutley work if you wanted to keep the pin head as the track bolt. If not, just stick them in and cut off the excess with side cutters afterwards. The important thing to remember is to remove the pointy end first as these can easily push through the blind end of the hole if still sharp.

Unfortunately I could not find a dress pin that would work so I went back to the old brass wire that was supplied with the tracks. For my first try at metal tracks I certainly didn’t realize that this set is actually a 3 to 4 part assembly per tread. At first I was cussing at myself for not doing enough research to understand the assembly but after I got started the tracks went together very well. Although drilling out the holes for the wire is tedious and itself I am enjoying the metal tracks and their level of detail once they come together.
finally had a chance also to throw some primer on the tiger

if I don’t happen to make it back to the form before this Friday… Merry Christmas to everyone and hope that Santa brings you some new kits or aftermarket supplies.

                        I'm so sorry Joe,

I just found this build of yours. Old and senile, I guess...This is a great beasty and you're doing a fantastic job on her. Lots of AM goodies will definitely make the difference. I'm a Friul man for all my builds as they just look so good and the sag is realistic. I'm in now and can't wait for the next update Sir...

I do wish you and the family a very Merry Christmas and a safe, healthy and happy New Year in these trying times. keep it coming!!!

                        Prost
