      Nice choice :thumb2:

I have vague memories of seeing these on the news at the time trundling through Port Stanley.

Here’s a video that’s probably just as blurry as your memories

Wow April already! Well this is the LVTP7 I'll be building, the academy kit was the only correct version I could find. Sprue shot.Click image for larger version

            Banana boat?

Looking at the sprue shots, this looks like another copy of a Tamiya kit, with some adjustments to make it an LVTP-7 rather than an LVTP-7A1 — the figure seems to have the same pose as the one on the Tamiya kit — probably because South Korea used the former and not the latter.

I suspect that if you carefully bend it all back reasonably straight (without heating the parts!), then tape the top deck to the hull, things will end up properly square.

Crikey that’s some serious warping :surprised:

              Good luck sorting it.

                Hi Mark
Interesting vehicle. I'm sure it will turn out fine. Jakko is probably right in that the top deck will pull things square. I would add some internal braces as well in places where they won't be seen.

Yes it is the old tamiya kit! Putting the top on looks like it will get things pretty straight along with the front and rear panels, I will add some braces if needs be.

Well this is pretty straight now the tops on, a little bit of sanding and maybe the odd spot of filler needed, wheels are made up and will come back off for painting.Click image for larger version

I just remembered I have an article in an ancient issue of Military Modelling about how to improve the Tamiya kit, IIRC mainly adding welds that the kit missed. I suppose most of it will apply to this kit as well. Want me to look it up for you?

                        Mark,

Half your fixed the warping issue. That looked pretty bent!!

Not seen one of these done before, so will follow this with interest.

Yeah thanks jacko:thumb2: if there's any extra detail my capabilities can manage I'll give it a go, it's quite a bland kit.

Hi Andrew yes I glued one side of the top on and left to dry then wrestled the other side of the hull in place and used plenty of tape to hold it in place, and it sits flat now.
