    Paul's SdKfz 251/7 Pioneer

building this for the halftrack GB ........picked up both boxes for £15 at a show earlier in the year

extra box supplies the bits and bobs to turn a 251 into a Pioneer version by adding gubbins inside and the bridge bits on top

    Per Ardua

We'll ride the spiral to the end and may just go where no ones been

They carried lots of tools, including 2 man chainsaw, landmines, explosives, & sometimes a flamethrower. It's hard to get good interior pics.

Off the top of my head, the rear two bench seats were replaced with equipment racks. I know I’ve seen at least drawings of those, but where?

Edit: Schützenpanzer by Bruce Culver and Uwe Feist (Ryton Publications, 1996), that was where. Page 195 has a top-view drawing of the Ausf. C that shows the equipment bins. No photos, though

Well if you two can’t find pictures, I’m sure nobody else can….so Paul has a bit of a free reign here.
Should be a great build though Paul.

Dragon did a 151/7 model , maybe their instruction sheets would give a bit more info for you. Also AFV Clun.
I'm seeing if i can find walkround pictures from saumur , i believe it had one.

Great pics Steve. Differences would imply stock by mission. Thanks.

A quick look at Steve’s photos seems to indicate the rear benches were replaced by sheet-metal shelves supported by cantilevers from the outboard side, and with a little ledge along the inboard side. And then, like you say, just stow whatever will be needed on those. Which makes the modeller’s job a lot easier

This will be a build definitely worth following.

Das Werk releasing a version end of October might be worth seeing if instructions or internal shots are available then.

If you can put up with the over the top Bruce Crompton, there's an episode of "Combat Dealers" in which they restore a Pioneer version, that might help?! :smiling3:

hes not the worst presenter on Discovery.........thats definatly Mike Brewer!

ive just watched that episode, unfortunatly its not a proper one.....just a normal 251 with the bridge bits scabbed on.......interior is unchanged...none of the gubbins
