All looking good Tony. The Matt and gloss black will create a nice contrast for the metallics.

Cracking job so far Tony :thumb2:

Like the use of the confetti for the gun sight, I might “borrow” that idea

Just had a good read up of this from the beginning, very interesting stuff I must say.
Coming along a treat Tony, and certainly a "different" specimen too!
          Nice one.

I must have been following Smitty as I ended up here also. Tremendous effort on this little wing thing. And it's really paying off. :thumb2:

Bit more done today , the rudder has been unmasked and after a couple of tiny touch ups looks ok. Ive painted the wheels and tyres , giving them a dry brush with a dark grey to highlight the tread and ive painted the exhausts . The airframe was masked off and the aluminium laquer areas sprayed in vallejo dark aluminium . The natural metal bits ( ie. Everything else ) will be painted in a brighter aluminium . A few access panels and the machine gun panels were picked out in a different shade and the prominent dark areas round the exhausts and the oil cooler intakes was done in a mix of steel and dark aluminium. Decals next i think then a final coming together of all the bits .

Splendid work old boy. I've just noticed. Your sliding canopy is in two parts, which is good news. It's a single piece in the 1:48 scale, not such good news.

I prefer the all in one type colin , i think this method gives a messy joint when trying to glue the clear part to the plastic , similarly the windscreen part is just the glass , no bottom frame so again a difficult joint to do cleanly - its the only part of this kit that lets it down a bit .

Tony looks very nice and it’s going to be different than any Mustangs I’ve seen can’t wait to see what those decals are going to look like on you model.
