Just a non-Newtonian fluid Geoff…….invented in America during WW2 as a potential replacement for natural rubber apparently….it’s generic name is silly putty, by the way.

Lovely stuff to work with , I like the way you put in back into the tin covered in paint, have a look a couple of days later and it's nearly all black and flat .

        Looking good Tim .

So that's where it came from!!

One of my favourite demos of non-Newtonian fluid was one I saw on the comedy series The Big Bang Theory.

They got some DIY fluid.... flour and water I think, or at least something like that... And put it on cling film over a loud speaker and then watching it respond to to the music.

Cornflour probably….not seen that episode though. Ian muddle and I discussed custard as a non Newtonian fluid somewhere. It behaves the same way if you make it out of the right ingredients :tongue-out3:

Not perfect, but close enough for something that was hand painted prior to combat. Minor touch ups needed to eliminate overspray, and a minor repair to the rudder aerial rod, which I knocked off when masking for the stripes…..then gloss varnish prior to decals…..getting there at last!

Great job with the stripes Tim. I agree, they are more accurate being a bit rough :thumb2:

Cheers Andrew. Glad I’m coming to the decals though, I’m really bored of masking and spraying….

Thanks Geoff, my thoughts entirely. Removed overspray though because they would have been brush painted.

It does get a bit tedious doesn't it!

Looking Great Tim!!! They were probably done quickly and yours look tops. If I may make a suggestion, please don't recycle the tissues after you blow your nose in them. Getting them wet and stuffing them into the holes is a fantastic idea Sir, but what was in them is more than we want to see...Thank you for your understanding.....

                              I'll get my coat now!!!............

                              Prost
