Well, that needed a little fettling, but nothing too onerous….


Seat assembly in. Had to open up the slots that fit round the ribs a little, so did both sides just in case….


IP in. Again, opened out the slots on the control that overlays the rib.

When this lot has gone hard, I’ll dry fit the fuselage fit before gluing it up!

I’ve gone for one piece in each half, by the way, because I will have more chance of finding what may be causing a poor fit. I know these are flush like they should be, so any issues will be the opposite side….

That looks really good. And the detail is great. I think I might have to try a larger than 1/72 scale aircraft next. Trouble is, there is so much I want to try and learn. I just need to be patient.

Cheers Mike. Yep, slowly slowly and all that. Nothing wrong with aiming high though, it really comes down to making what you want to make. No need to make a job of it, and if it goes wrong, nothing is lost except a few quid and some plastic.

To be honest John, that’s how I thought of it. These two sub assemblies are like two figures, so I used the wet pallet etc to paint them up quite quickly.

Oh, and the photos are just photographed and cropped on my IPad. The secret with that is holding it steady, usua against the bench, then tapping the screen at the point of interest so the internal algorithms set exposure and focus where you want it. Works on an IPhone as well.

Well you got a better chance of it fitting now you fixed that bulkhead! :smiling3: At least you won't have the problem of fixing the engine cover.

PS You should oughta 'ave a go at more wingy thingies seein' as 'ow you can build them this well.

Cheers Dave. I had the same cowling issue in an Italeri Stuka I built a few years ago. I just left it off and painted the engine.
I’ve actually built a few wingies in the last half dozen years……Spitfire I, Hurricane, Stuka, Me109, Mig 17, Gnat trainer, and a Nieuport biplane come to mind so I’ve had some previous practice :tongue-out3: .
I’ve also got a half built Trumpeter Whirlwind in a drawer somewhere. Never know, this and the Mossy build might make me finish it……

Looking really good Tim, but it's a pity the kit designer didn't put a little more effort into the rudder pedals.
