Yep, agreed Ian. Contacta is pretty good for that. Overclamping doesn’t help either. It can distort the parts and get the joints out of parallel.Comment

Absolutely right. With Bon they were a great act. After Bon, they were good, but turned into a stadium rock pastiche of their former selves. I saw them with BrIan Johnson at Donnington, and, to be honest, Slade (who were on the same bill) ate them alive. With Bob they were high energy personified…
THIS is real AC/DC……not for non fans though, it’s a bit long…..
I was at Donnington Monsters of Rock festival that year too!!
Went 3 or 4 times during the 80s.
Good track you listed there, and I TOTALLY AGREE..... there's an awful lot of the original line up's stuff that would surprise the "2nd Division fans"!!Comment

Should be the whole concert there Andy, not just one track. Pre dates the “Angus” chant on Rosie…..I remember watching that Rock goes to college episode on an old black and white portable telly in my bedroom….great program that just wouldn’t be aired now. Up and coming bands in small venues.
Absolutely chucked it down at Donny in the afternoon didn’t it LOL…..we slept in a service station afterwards before driving back to Salisbury the next day….
Reading and Glastonbury were our local festivals, went to them many times. Went to Cambridge folk festival a lot as well….different music but great atmosphere.Comment

Just caught up with this - looking really good, Tim. The miniature painting is clearly a transferable skill! Makes me more optimistic I can make a half-decent job when I start on motorbikes, fingers crossed.Comment

Mind you, bikes, like cars, will need a bit of polishing work between coats on the tank and side skirts to get a decent finish.Comment

Well, after a little filling and sanding, we’ve reached another milestone…. wings are on.
Nothing major to work on, just the usual hairline cracks. I prefer to do them with the wings off because access is easier. The tape isn’t really there to maintain dihedral, it’s there to keep the wing to fuselage joint closed up while the glue is drying. The clamps keep the front and back in close contact while the glue dries as well. Once this is all dry I’ll do any remedial work on the wing/fuselage joint then dress up the wings and engine area with the requisite lumps, bumps, and sticking out bits…..still deciding wether to drill out the exhausts or not. I probably will, but need to check if there are aftermarket ones available in case I wreck them….Comment

Cheers for the support Tony. No pilot in this one I’m afraid. I always like to show aircraft on the ground with the canopy open.Comment

Nice wing root there. Minor point of irritation on my build, but you have done a good jog there.Comment

Cheers Ian. I’ve had them so bad that they need 20thou plasticard infill or so much sanding you nearly go through the plastic. The wing fit on this kit was better than the body halves.Comment
