Sorry that it`s been a while for an update on this one guys!!.....
Work, life and TANKFEST got in the way!!:anguished:
I must be lacking for sure in my modelling efforts these days:angry:,when it comes to AFVs i`m well confident:thumb2:...
BUT,with flying Fings,(Much as i love `em),my "Skills" seem to desert me!!:flushed:...
... I`ve watched "Langy" build up his plane with no problems at all,... very envious,as i have the very same kit,but find the vague instructions a bit annoying and very cryptic !!
I WILL still keep on with it mind,if for practice only!! ....
Had to do a LOT of filler, not great,.... but i don`t actually think the kit is anyway!!
Bought that, but it came with NO instructions at all.... quick look on the net ... seemed to sort it... i hope so!!:anguished:....
Here`s where i am so far,(and i`m VERY aware of my lost airplane build stuff!!)).....
When i look at what the other guys have done i realise that i should stick to AFVs :dizzy:!!
However,i have a few Plane kits in the stash,so.... stand by to be awash with crap planes from the "Smythmeister"!!
Thanks for looking in,and apologies for the assault on your peepers!!
Andy
I reckon things are looking great Andy. Here's a thing, you say Langy is building the same model. I once built two Airfix Jet Provost side by side, for a kit with very few parts, they still had different fit issues. It could easily be, your kit, is just a bit different from Langy's.
I feel the same about planes sometimes but then I think only practice makes perfect!
Keep the great work.
Andrew
Thanks Andrew,much appreciated :thumb2: ,
You`re right of course.... Practice certainly does make,(In my case,)...... a BIT better!!:tears-of-joy:
Andy
Hi Andy
You're getting there and it's all looking fine. You'll be an experienced wingy thing builder yet.
Jim
Thanks very much Jim,i`m pleased that you have faith in me :thumb2:

Cheers Fernando.... It`s probably just me,the kit can definitely be an excellent finish... just as Chris has proved

Good point Colin,I see what you mean, hadn`t really thought of that .... Thanks:thumb2:
So now that i`ve covered all bases...... an update to follow VERY shortly.......
Well, here we go with the "Smythemeister`s" Spitfire CATASTROPHY BUILD......
... First up,i decided to try and persevere with the kit..... Did the control panel, and finished the assembly.....
Then it was time to attack it with filler.......(From many angles i`m afraid!!).....
Davecov`s idea of masking off the areas for Filling is sounding SO much like a great idea!! :thumb2:
Not sure why that pic went so big there:anguished:..... HOWEVER ..... Believe it or not, after that all done, sanded down and then primered.... it ACTUALLY LOOKS LIKE a SPITFIRE :astonished:!!!!
So there we are then!,,,, I`m actually surprised how it`s turned out so far.... i thought it`d be a real train wreck! Obviously it ain`t great, but as a test piece for my Mossie build,i`m quite pleased so far!
As you can see there are a few bits that still require attention, but i`ll sort them out Dreckly, then it`ll be ready to try the camo mask set that i bought!!:anguished:
Thanks for looking in as always guys, and i appreciate all of your comments/thoughts,.... or plain ole abuse!!:tears-of-joy::thumb2:
Andy
I understand Andy....You are doing a helluva job with this baby and I love the pit. Drive on buddy and it will turn out aces!!! Please don't look at my Mossie when I start building it though........The horror, the horror.............
Prost
Allen
PS, besides the Devon Mist, it might be the Jacky and cola too...........................
