Shame about that Ian. Sure you’ll sort it out though. I’ve had some Frisk film for years and never used it…..and you’ve just put me off it for good :disappointed: Tamiya kabuki tape does come in sheets by the way….might be a better alternative that just their narrow tape.

So a step forward again. Let's see how this try turns out.
Didn't bother with masking, just went for it... Well it is nearly all under the markings...
Looks a bit patchy but will wait to see how it is when 100% cured and had a bit of clear coat over it.
I will have a look at finding the sheets of Kabuki masking though.
Most of my builds are 1/48 aircraft or 1/35 armour and normally the 50mm tape is wide enough for most things.
Well it looks like I have gotten rid of any paint edges and can hopefully move on with this.Comment

Said you’d sort it out didn’t IThe real reason I haven’t used my frisk film is that I’ve never really needed to Ian. Most of what I’ve done over the last few years has been small figures, so I don’t need to mask.

Sorry been far to hot to work in the hobby room. or the garden for that matter. High summer is for me due to the placement of the hobby room, an early morning late afternoon thing, When it is really hot the sun cooks paint and glue off before I can get to work with it!
Anyway.
I did get the top painted before the visit to the dentists :tired: I even got the decals done. Like a nob, I forgot to photo the process. Well you all know how decals work.
They went down quite well and as normal on a Spitfire the rondel on the underside of the wing has to fight with a vent. Not sure which one won, I did have to touch in a few bits of white so I guess the vent won...
Here are a few teasers. There are a few more to be found in the completed section:

Hi Ian
I've missed some of this. Just caught up. The preshade has worked well. I find it difficult - I've obliterated it more often than I've been successful. Yours is just nice and subtle. Camo came out well. Shame about the roundels but sorted now and the decals look to have snuggled down nicely. I reckon that is a great result.
