Your right Jim, it’s all part of the “fun” :tears-of-joy:

Hopefully it won’t be quite as bad once it’s built up properly.

    Geoff.

Going well Geoff. You might be able to improve the wing to fuselage joint a little by pulling the wings up to the correct dihedral. It could just be that the bottom wing part is a little flat. If not then it looks like a sliver of plastic card is required. Filler might crack under later handling and then show through the paint finish.

Thanks Tim, that’s a good idea.

I’ll have a bit of a play with it and see how it looks once I start buttoning it up.

        Geoff.

          Hello guys,

I’ve managed to make some progress with the build at last.

          Firstly cockpit is done.

There is no decal supplied for the instrument panel so it was given a dry brush and looks reasonable ok, not much will be seen anyway once it’s all closed up.
I found some pe seatbelts from the spares box and it was all given a bit of weathering with Tamiya panel line wash.

The radiators under the wing and the cannon bulges on the top of the wings have been added.

The exhausts need adding before the fuselage halves are joined together but the gap is slightly too large for a good fit.

So I glued in some backing plates using strips of plasti-card which gives a more secure fixing.

The side window behind the cockpit where the camera would be fitted is represented by a black decal.
I’ve decided to drill it out instead and will fill the gap using crystal clear near the end of the build.

The cockpit has been sandwiched between the fuselage halves and the wings have been added. Although it will need some cleaning up it is starting to take shape.

Just had a read through on this build........nice solution with the poor fitting exhaust stacks.....Just what the Dr. ordered.

Not an original idea as I’ve seen it done on other builds but it will hopefully stop them falling out or worse into the fuselage :fearful:

Construction pretty much done now, just the small bits and bobs that will be left off until the end.

Rudder and tail planes have been added.
I had some difficulties here as there are optional parts but the instructions don’t give any indication which should be used
I checked the few reference photos I have and think I’ve got it right.
No alignment tabs either to make it a bit more tricky.

I did consider adding some brass pins to strengthen the joint but they actually seemed well fitted with the Tamiya liquid cement I used.

The wing tips have also been added which didn’t fit too well either.

I’ve filled and sanded them to look a bit better.

The gun barrels have also been added and the next job is to give all the seams a spray with black paint which will give me a better idea of if they need any more work.

I’ll also finish masking the canopy and cement that into place.

Seems like there is a bit of fight back there Geoff. You are taming it admirably though.
