Sounds like you used to work at Lambert’s Restaurant Allen where they throw the rolls at you when you need one. We always stop there in Ozark Missouri on the way to Branson.

Wow, what a selling point. I’m not likely to ever go by, but if I did I’d have to stop in…….

I did go to this place in the evening once when I was in London on a training course years ago. We’d never heard of it, just went in because we were hungry. It was exactly as described…..good food in a slightly unnerving atmosphere…..

Eaten there many a time. The waiters definitely ramp up the abuse if they think a) you're enjoying it, and b) if you're really, really not!

Ok Rick. Very smart sitting in the back where the shrapnel won’t hit you the umbrella is a great idea.

Okay it's a side-car build...I thought I heard someone say flying side dishes!!:smiling2: I'm in front center where the fun is...am used to Chinese restaurant service if you can call it that.
Sitting while they prep your table is an experience...there are two, standard and posh.

Standard...firstly apart from the unwelcoming stare it starts with laying the tablecloth that's been through flak and then the waitress whose definitely worked in a casino card table deafly throws and slides a stack of plates accurately including the cutlery onto the table...the experienced guests sit quietly while others jolt back fearing being stabbed. Half the tea poured is shared with the table. Then ordering starts...you either know your dishes or you ask for recommendations and they rattle a list so fast that they know you can't make a decision and then they thrust the soggy menu at you. You're lucky if you can flag a waitress during the course of the meal.

Posh...The table is ready before you sit, obviously reservations have been done beforehand. Everything beautifully laid with ivory chopsticks and fine China and warm towels rolls to clean your hands. Napkins are usually origamied and placed on your plate. As for tea, the posh restaurants do this with Kung Fu theatrics using a copper kettle with hot water and extremely long thin spout accurately in a swirl into the tea cup mixing the tea leaves present. The tea itself can cost as much as a meal. Your plate is changed at every course. There is at least two waitresses per table dressed in Cheong Sam with slits up the side that go as far as...

The two experiences will still give you good food. Where were we..oh yes Lee, at 1/48 scale this will be challenging and interesting to see it come together.

                              Cheers,
                              Wabble
