And I bet you have had a better build experience with this Airfix version than the "fun" of building the Gecko!

what are you using for the dust?
Cheers Neil. In this case I used pastel chalks. I grind up some powder using 400 grit wet or dry paper and dust it on with a brush…..a good matt finish helps….

Thanks Ian. Build experience so far has been pretty stress free. Had to do a bit of thinking ahead, but that’s to be expected. I don’t think much will trip me up now.

See, you are going to beat mine to the finish
                  But it's not about competing!

Something I noticed about 'Alex' Katy is the horizontal bars on the side crosses appear to be cloth or something stuck on.
                  Ah, the little details...

The sides of the box at the back are actually canvas on the outside Steve. That may be what you are seeing….

Not a lot to do now. Wheels on next plus wing mirrors, canvas cab doors, and steps. After that, just the rear doors to finish and fit and the sand mats and tow rope……
                              Looking most excellent there Tim

Thanks Andy. It’s actually quite simple using pastel chalks on a matt surface. Only thing is it can rub off if you handle it too much…..usually enough stays behind though, and another dust is quite easy and quick to do….l
