Hmm. Problem.
Those frames to hold the flimsies and Jerrycans that hide below the box at the back. They have just literally fallen apart while removing them from the fret. First part came off with the top protective film. The next two came off removing the part from the bottom protective film! Have had a go at CA'ing the bugger together but its not having it! Grrr.

Can you fold up a replacement from scrap etch?

Either that or I have a good supply of plastic profiles I can cobble something out of. Fortunately the other PE I have had the pleasure of today have been more robust.
The story so far:

In my normal hap hazard order I am working my way through. Today I jumped on the 'customer service' section and started to sort the bunks out and a few other bits and bobs.

Still need a bit of CA down one side of the right hand (as you look) Grill section. I'll get that next time.
Talking of which I might have a look at the drivers compartment next.

Plugging away, trying to sort out as many sub-assemblies as pos. befor I throw some primer at it.
Paint the insides first, then build the box/passenger compartment then the outside paint.
Bench is chaotic but that's the way I roll i guess.

Front grill is done!

The painting sticks are filling up- Sprues are emptying. Soon primer time. Also will have to make some decision about the scheme.

Looking good Ian.
That's a very high quality bit of PE for the radiator grills- I trust the damage is intentional....?

Interesting:

The instructions for Gecko’s LCA also have some drawings that are badly pixelated like here. How on earth do they manage to do that when they are otherwise very well-drawn? Why didn’t their DTPer complain?!

Coming on very nicely....but very odd about the instructions.

Quite a challenging kit Ian, especially when compared to Tim's. It should be more detailed with that pe and so many parts. Looks like your on top of it.

Thanks Chaps. I have had to walk away from this one on more than once! It is what I call a Bitsa, as in which bits a' going to fall of this time. Seriously fiddly work too. Anyhow....

Mostly yes but I confess the first hole was a "wrong tweezer moment' lol

In all fairness the picture you have shown is enlarged by a factor of about 15. lol. But yes odd that they have gone for a dot printer.
The instructions are though 1000% better than Dragons guess a part guide.

Almost forgot the update lol-

I will save you from photo spam. As at the moment it is just a load of grey plastic that has been primed .... grey, lol Bu the PE is now covered.
Once I start with a bit of colour I will post pictures... I also have a plane for the colour as well.
I found A couple of versions of SCC no. 2 one a bit more brown than the other. So the dark one for all the hard panels, the lighter for all the fabric covered bits.
I rather wanted to do the Caunter camouflage on this but there are just to many fine parts that are going to suffer if I try.
Wouldn't it be great if Airfix brought out the fire tender from that ancient RAF Fire rescue set i HO/OO from all them years ago...

Cheers.

Found a suitably colour for the motor block, hopefully.
