    Latest update.

The "chrome" parts after their bath in Mr Muscle and a good rinse in clean water. As it turned out, they were only in the polybag for a few minutes. In contrast, the scrap runner placed in Domestos took 18 hours to remove all of the "chrome":

All parts have now been cleaned up with all seams and flash dealt with:

I started to assemble the engine and rear suspension unit:

Out came some Alcad 2 Gloss Black Base to prime the parts that will be sprayed with Alclad 2 Chrome or Aluminium:

It was also used for the floorpan:

    That is all for now.

      Another painting session to report.

I got out the Alclad 2 Chrome (ALC-107) and sprayed the "chrome" parts. The Alclad gives a superior, thinner coat than that originally on the parts:

      More lovely chrome:

I sprayed the exhaust system with Alclad 2 Dull Aluminium (ALC-117):

Exhaust manifolds were sprayed with Alclad 2 Exhaust Manifold (ALC-123):

      That is all for now.

My refs suggest two cars were used, the stunt car had the original engine replaced with a 360 cubic inch Windsor tuned up to 435 HP. The model engine looks to have the stunt engine w/two four barrel carbs.

          More progress to report.

I sprayed some parts with H130 Satin Gloss White and brush-painted the engine block with H48 Gloss Mediterranean Blue:

Once the blue was dry, I added some of the chrome parts previously painted plus the exhaust manifolds. Parts of the front suspension were brush-painted with H11 Silver. Drive belts were painted H33 Matt Black:

Mr Postie delivered these 1/25 figures today and I may use some of them in this build:

          That is all for now.

Very nice build so far, I thought about getting this kit as this show was a never miss on Saturday nights when I was a kid! I am enjoying watching your build very much.

Was this the programme with the gorgeous girl in short, tight shorts?

You may be thinking of Daisy from The Dukes of Hazzard.

So iconic that even all these years later her name is used to describe that (tiny) item of clothing

No, Steve. That was the Dukes of Hazzard with Catherine Bach as Daisy Duke

Ooooh, that was cruel! (Was that all the footage you could find?) I am deeply indebted, you have made an old man very happy!

Steve, there were so many videos clips that I was spoilt for choice but I haven't the time right now to ensure that they are all suitable for those who may be of a fragile nature. It is going to take me weeks of painstaking "research". I'll let you know how I get on - assuming that I survive the experience!

                            Another update.

Pictures of the original Ford Torinos used in Starsky & Hutch had registration plates front and rear. The Revell kit has two decals but only one plate to put them on so I cut another one from plastic card:

The various engine decals have been applied. I am not sure whether to add spark plug leads or not as my dexterity isn't what it was. I will make a decision in the next few days:

The engine and radiator were fitted to the subframe:

The exhaust system was fitted to the underside of the floorpan:

Front and rear suspension, rear axle and drivedrive shaft fitted:

                            The wheels have been dry-fitted:

The joins on the front seat halves were filled and sanded. The rear seats have been masked off and the next step will be to paint the grey floor and parcel shelf:

                            That is all for now.

Top work dave , iconic motor . Reminds me of seeing a few local lookalikes in the seventies but they were things like morris marinas or datsun cherries with the white stripe painted on , hardly California !! :tears-of-joy:
