The model has been primed from a rattle can and the underside of the aircraft brush painted with 3 thin coats of Blue Grey. Seams were a problem, well at least for me. The model went together well but I still struggled to remove the seam lines and it required a couple a reprimes to sort them.
All small remaining parts have been tidied up, primed and painting started in them.
I've also made the school boy error of attaching small parts and protecting them. The cannon has already snapped off twice.
I'm enjoying the model and aside from the chappy masks which came with it, it's going together quite nicely overall.
A little more progress. I've applied the green coat for the top of the aircraft. I needed 3 thin brush coats for this. Next up is the dark coat for the camouflage on top of this.
The darker camo has been added. This was brush painted after marking the lines in pencil. All other small attachments have also been painted.
I'm out all day tomorrow meeting friends in London so will attach these parts later in the week, do a little but of touch up required and move to the next stages.
So far so good and this will hopefully be the first GB model I've completed on time in a while.
I've added on all the extra bits, finished painting and applied a clear gloss coat from a rattle can.
I'll probably start on decals tomorrow.
Putting all the wheel parts in place was very fiddly and caused me to walk away in frustration on numerous occasions. Took me about 3 days elapsed days in total but probably only a few hours actual work.
I've added the decals and given a second gloss coat. The decals went on quite easily.
Arma provide double the amount of decals for all the small ones, plus an extra cockpit one. This is a nice touch. Luckily I didn't need any extra ones for the outside of the aircraft but I previously used the second cockpit one as I destroyed the first one with my clumsy ways.
Next stage is to apply washes and weather etc and also try my first ever attempt at adding an antenna line (well 2 actually). I'll be using the thread I got from John.
That's coming on nicely Mark and sorry for the delay in looking at it! I always struggle with antenna wire. I use spare fishing line and paint it black.
