None the less, thanks for the suggestion, Paul. :thumb2:

I have to agree with you there Ron, sometimes I've thrown loads of aftermarket and P.E. at a build and not really seen the benefit, and then built something straight O.O.B. and really enjoyed using paintwork to make the details pop...
I'm not saying all aftermarket stuff isn't worth it, but sometimes you just have to go with how the kit was originally designed and use what you know to make it work...

I may as well throw my hat into the ring, as Ron has chosen the Enterprise, I'll go with the Yorktown

          Ron,
Difficult choice! - I have the Enterprise in the stash & the Hornet, and about four other US carriers. Japanese not too far behind, although for some reason, not many Japanese aircraft!
This is a useful site http://www.wings-aviation.ch/24-Nava...Enterprise.htm for finding which aircraft were carried..............

Plenty of choice there Dave. You could build 'em all!

Also, thanks for the interesting link, but I'm a O.O.B. merchant. I would presume there are some sort of aircraft in with the kit that will suffice.....

I was hoping you would join in with one of your floaty things, I'm still looking at the 1/700 Zuikaku but will probably settle on a 1/48 Corsair.

Good grief, we might well have more carriers than aircraft!

Me thinks I'll move my Mitchell bomber into 1st. reserve....

Well that's annoying, was highest bidder on a 1/700 HMS Illustrious on eBay and the seller obviously decided to cancel the sale......

Sadly, it happens - sometimes they've got it advertised elsewhere, and sold it, and sometimes it's not getting the money they hoped for ( but that's just me being cynical! ) - good hunting

Or the winning bid is to low so they pull it....
No Minimum price = no sellers fees..

I was looking at the Hornet with the Mitchell wing. Never get it done in the time frame...lol

I suspect the latter as it disappeared some time in the closing hour, opening bid was £20 though......

Karl, I meant to ask earlier...
Is a small diorama / vinegarett :upside: allowed or has the model to be a stand alone?

                                Thanks.
