Lee Drennen’s Alaskan Hauler Kenworth Conventional.

First of I would like to thank Peter for hosting this GB. Next I would like to mention that this year marks Kenworth’s 100th years in business. I haven’t built this kit for over 35 years but when AMT re-leased this kit this year I just had to get one. This truck was especially built for the rugged roads and Ice Roads of the Alaskan and Northern Territories hauling Pipe and Vidal cargo to the Pipe lines in the Mid 1960s and early 1970s. So bundle up and put your snow shoes on as I build this Big Beautiful Beast. Here’s the sprue shots of over 300 Parts. Click image for larger version

Engine is done all 31 parts except for paint. The Engine will be painted White because Kenworth and Peterbilt both painted there Engines that color to show Oil and Coolant leaks as well as other problems. I did my best but the molds are sure showing there age as well as I lol. Click image for larger version

Another monster. Just been looking at Andy's Aussie beast. It will make an eye-catching model.

I’m sure I built something similar many years ago, something to do with Rubber duck in a movie? Might have been a different make of truck but looked similar or I really had a strange dream

The film you are thinking of is Convoy and the truck driven by Rubber Duck was a Mack, strangely it is on tv tonight on one of the freeview channels.

                              Andy.
