Funny, just today a modeller friend of mine tried to interest me in the 1:35 scale Italeri counterpart that also comes with a bunch of infantry. I declined, I have enough I want to build alreadyComment

Even though I have quite a few kits in WIP, being new to the forum I'd really like to take part in this GB, to get to know you guys a bit better. It's also a pretty important subject and I had a great Uncle in the SAS who was killed not long after D-Day.
So I've been mulling over my entry for the last week or so. I did consider building a P-47 but thanks to the encouragement you all have given me in my Sherman build, I really do feel I'm finally, after 15 years of wanting to, breaking into 1/35 Armour modelling and I'd like to continue that Journey.
I do have both a Tamiya Willys Jeep and Italeri GMC 6x6 Truck with relevant June 1944 markings, and I may still build one or the other, but what I really fancy building is one of these...
I've checked Scalemates and the kit does come with June 1944 in Normandy decals. Not the most successful of designs, but a fun subject.
I might even see if I can do a simple base for it.
Cheers

I'd like to take a swing at this - it's a great topic.
I have absolutely no idea what I will build, but given that t can be pretty much anything Allied and D-day related I feel confident that I'll find something, probably with black and white stripes, but you never know
I'll probably miss the starting gun, but I'll join in when I can.Comment
