OH Andy that Dac looks great but this is not critisum of your fanstaic build but i think if you had made it with the big door open an a parra ready to drop near the door it would look real wow but still brilliant build sir but get that elevator back on

Is this a solvent-based wash? I largely stopped using those (mixed from paint and white spirit) when I noticed things like wing mirrors and other bits with small attachment surfaces just dropping off the model soon after I put the wash on.

No, but I have had similar issues to you in the past with enamel or oil washes.

This was a water based clay wash but the damage was caused by me being clumsy & heavy handed. No one to blame but myself :smiling3:

Looks excellent Andy. I do think that the gloss coat makes a model look like a toy.

Ah, yes, the other common reason for losing bits off a model

I'm sure you'll get those bits put back in their place!

              It's looking excellent!

Agreed, it looks more civilised with it's dull coat on.

Not sure the landing gear is very realistic though!

Still the undercarriage looks a little iffy, Andy. :tears-of-joy: I prefer the first photo though. Nice piece of painting and true the flat base coat does bring it out.

                  Cheers,
                  Wabble

Just caught up on this one Andy. Painting top quality as always. Glad itโ€™s not just me that suffers silvering on very small decals (really donโ€™t know why that happens) and thatโ€™s a very good catch. First picture is best though. The camera HDR has over exposed the second shot and wiped out most of your hard won colour variation.

That's a splendid finish Andy. Really looking the part.

Mighty fine work going on here, inspiring and intimidating at the same time!

I baulked at the price of this kit when perusing a 'raspberry ripple' DC3 but seeing your work seems to be worth every penny.

I bought one some time ago, just because it came with skis. I mean, an aircraft on skis, brilliant.

My biggest regret is having to leave them in the box, I just couldn't think of a viable cover story :tears-of-joy:

I'm sure they will appear on some kit bash in the future.
