    Colin M’s Eduard’s 1:48 Tempest Mk V

22nd May, I said I would enter the GB with this. Ok, a little bit late to the party, but here we go.

The Profipack comes with everything except paint, glue and time.

If I ever build a 1/48 airplane model in my life, I'll build an Eduard Profi Pack!

I'll be so bold as to sit next to Paul.

They really are good. Eduard detail is top notch, but then they chuck a mask set in and a bit of photo etch. The prices are good as well.

I would just add a caveat to that…..later ones are better than the early ones. The Zero I built for the Japanese GB was superb though. Probably the best aircraft kit I’ve ever built.

Joining the party! I have this in the stash.

I'll second what Tim said. I built their Yak 3 last autumn and had a few issues, especially with the the etch IP panel not fitting in the space allocated to it at all.

            Good luck Colin!

That’s got me thinking. I’ve been building Eduard’s for years, but only Profipacks, I wonder if the Profipacks are all newer moulds ? It makes sense in a way.

We’re off, I did wonder where the tiny bits of plastic came from I found floating around. Now I know !

A quick repair needed, I think I’ll get away with this.

And this little lot is basically the cockpit waiting for some paint.
The IP is made from 7 different pieces.

Time for a bit is spraying, but daughter No.2, recently returned from Uni, is still asleep. At this time. I mean, how much sleep do 20 something years olds need ?

                  Hi Colin

I can confirm that NOT all ProfiPacks are newer mouldings. You need to look at Scalemates to what's what.

A number of my Eduards are older mouldings...a couple I think are even from the late 90s. The Yak I built last year was certainly one of the earlier ProfiPacks.

                  Keep up the good work!

What put you off Steve ? Why not dig it out and we can build together?

It seems a bit of rain was quite welcome today. Water buts full and cockpit finished.
