So this is my entry for Lees group build. This kit is from 1982 and I purchased it earlier this year from a certain on line site. When the post man delivered it he shook the box and it sounded like a box of broken glass. He said "That doesn't sound good." I explained it was a plastic model kit but when I opened it up many parts had become detached from the sprues and were loose in the box which I saw had been opened. I just hope all the pieces are there and that non have been lost. Non the less I have posted the usual sprue shots with the loose parts included. I will do my best with it.

Can someone explain how I can enlarge these images. I didnt get an option on size when they uploaded and now if I go into edit post and click medium size on the image all sorts of weird things are happening.
Update. I have sorted it thanks.Last edited by HAWKERHUNTER; 27 September 2024, 14:08.Steve👍 1Comment

Well I have managed to get some build time in this week. The parts so far are going together well but that said it is a 1/32 scale and is going to be a big model when finished. With it being an old kit I gave it a wash in warm soapy water and then moved on to the assembly of the three wheel bogies. Some really nice detail in them.
Whist waiting for the glue to set I moved onto the MACE Missile. Quite a size as you can see from the enamel paint pot in the picture.
Finally moved onto some work on the chassis/floor pan and assembling the 13 wheels which come in two halves.
Thats about it for now. As you can recall this was a kit I bought second hand and about 30+ small pieces had broken off the sprues and were floating around in a box that had been opened. So far I am pleased to say that I have managed to find the pieces I need so it's so far so good.

Well another good day at the office. Continued work on the tractor unit. Came across my first kit problem. The long drive shaft was broken about a third of the way along. Fortunately the missing piece was in the box so thats been glued back together
This is how it looks now that its in place
Next up I built up some of the storage boxes. They went together well and with minimal adjusting/sanding.
Finally did some work on the cab. I cant put the roof on just yet as the inside needs a different colour than the external body work. Also the actual Terracruzer has glass in the windscreen and doors. The kit doesn't come with any perspex so I intend to fabricate the windscreen together with some wind screen wipers.
And a final picture of everything loosely sat on the chassis
Thats it for the tractive unit. All these parts now need cleaning and filling in preparation for spraying. I am now moving onto the trailer and missile carrier. Need to get as much built up prior to spraying.Steve👍 6Comment

Looking very good Steve. Seems to be going together neatly and your repair is spot on. Good luck making windows.👍 1Comment
