I think that would be my solution. Plus, you can just try that out: paint it black, fit the body, and see how much is still visible. If you think it’s too much, you can always still cut it off.

I didn't really want to go there lol. I've noticed a few braces that are missing compared to the real thing and once I start I'd probably end up remaking most of the tub :tears-of-joy:

It's hardly visible, probably even less once the pe mesh is fitted behind the rear grill, but you know how it is.

My current thinking is a halfway house - remove the upper part that will serve no purpose once the car is built, but paint the lower strip (that supports the exhaust) black.

Well this is how it turned out after just removing the top part. When you think the view through the upper grill was completely obscured, I think it's a worthwhile improvement for little work.

If the engine can still be seen once the mesh is on is another story :tears-of-joy:

I've also finished the seats, ready for the fabric & pe harnesses. Black primer with Mr color gx black gloss on the backs and matt varnish on the fronts to try and represent the alcantara fabric a bit.

It looks like it was probably for the better that you did decide to cut away the bits visible through the grille, yes.

Andy your updates are great I really like the Wiring on the Engine.

Thanks guys, I'm glad I decided to chop that part out.

Lee - the wiring comes in the kit as flexible rubber parts. It didn't take paint or glue very well but as long as I don't disturb it too much it should hold out.

I am glad that turned out for you Andy. Totally agree with you. That has added a real element of realism to the car.

Nice mod Andy, give a nice view into the engine compartment (well until the mesh is fitted anyway).

The body has had a good polish now and will probably get some wax once I've finished nailing it together.

Who would'a thunkit? A go fast MG. TCs, TDs, As, Bs, Sprites, none with such an impressive engine. Great finishes.

Great work Andy. I was getting ready for the 6R4 / RS200 battle many years ago, just as group B was banned.

Beautiful job on the decals, Andy and she really shines with a polish!!! Uhh, did you say you were going to wax it too??? What!!! You gonna slap a coat of Turtle wax on it. Never knew you could do that with a model my friend...

If you do wax it, might I suggest you don't use the buffer out of the shop for the job though...
