Me too. The 6r4 was a bit rubbish really, typical Austin Rover unreliability, but I think with another season to iron out the kinks it could have been a real contender.

Allen - models can definitely be waxed, although I wouldn't recommend it on a tank ... :smiling5:

Probably cos Rovers entire rallying budget was the same as Lancias pasta and red wine budget :smiling6::smiling6:

                Yes, no problem.

The blue was my first time with Tamiya rattle cans and I think I went far too heavy (all done in one coat lol) so maybe it was still a bit delicate when I applied the decals.

I’ve had that happen with Tamiya’s gloss varnish on aircraft builds before Andy, so I don’t think it’s you. It disappeared when the next coat was put on. Could be water getting into the surface?.

They appeared after I put the decals on Tim, so yes, splashes of either micro set, sol, or the water I cleaned up with.

Engine is now fixed in place. I was expecting a wrestle and I got one.

The exhausts are far too wide to go through the hole in the underside so the instructions warn you not to apply any glue until you've squeezed, bent and bullied the assembly into place.

Then I've been painting some of the suspension & interior parts. The subframes will need a few touch ups as I was too lazy to mask them and airbrushed the suspension arms freehand

I could paint some of the interior on the sprue as Belkits have handily put the attachment points in unseen places or mounting tabs

Dash is pretty detailed and shows how they fitted a LHD dash to a RHD car, so that most of the instrumentation was on front of the co-driver.

Lots of detail in this kit for you to get your teeth into. Still marvelling at that engine.

Thanks. I keep looking at it and there's still so much work to do.

Next job is to check how much movement I can get into the suspension. If I'm displaying it on jack stands there would be some sag. I'm not sure if it's possible, but I'll give it a shot.

The there's the figures, accessories, base.

                          Better get cracking :tears-of-joy:

Whilst figuring out what to do with the suspension I've started to put the interior together. I added some rudimentary battery leads to jazz things up a little

:smiling5:Very nicely done, see you have a wheel brace included like me however Subaru must have had a bigger rally budget because mine is chromed!
                              Looking forward to further updates.

I don't know if this interior is true to the Metro. But I can't help wondering, how much of the original Metro is in a 6R4 ?
