Youngerthanme,
Just caught up on this build, usual car build untill you got to the decalling - now that is the way to re-cycle decals - excellent idea...
The joke with the bears cracked me up - reminds me of the two bears watching the nerds eat a Twix bar.....
As for the get together bbq, I always found that Bratwurst and beer had a good clensing effect the next day, and with the design of German pans with that ledge you had to be ready to lift off in case of splashback....

Evening Folks,
I've once again returned from the land of Oz. Between the heat, dead brain cells, and mojo loss, life's been hell for the past week or so. Had a little get away up to the lake, it was nice, but didn't get the demons completely out of my head. The weather has cooled off and some shopping therapy helped get me back on track. It's time to get things done on my build's. So,
Thanks Paul! Got that crazy idea in my head and I just went with it...
Thank you Stefan! I'm glad you like it. I hope you are doing better, Sir...
Thank you too my friend! What's the old saying Mick? Dare to be different, or crazy...
Thanks Neil! Sometimes the light come on when you open the fridge door, but sometimes, not. This time it did...

Thanks too Nick! Sort of a one-of-a-kind idea and fun too. Hope you are well, Sir...
So, a short update from the last 2-3 days that I've been back at the table. I went to work on the clear parts, painting the trim and edges according to the destructions, from the inside. I used AV Model Air flat black for the task,
It took two coats to cover them. After they had dried, I shaved a toothpick and went about cleaning up the edges. Not the best job with shaky hands, but I managed (no pic). Then I started adding them to the body. In between, I painted the tail lights on the inside with red. When they were dry, I used AK's Crystal Magic glue to put them in place,
The turn signal/back up lights were also painted and are drying right now. I just need to do the front headlight covers, mirrors, and add a few decals. Then, I can put this puppy together and finish it. That's it for now good people...Again apologies for my absence and thank you all............A bit of humor,
Lotsa ketchup to do over the next few days (again). You guys never slow down!!!...

Yeah, it's me again,
As the temps in the apartment have cooled, I went about trying to get the GTR finished. I added the decals and a few bits and got them all glued in place. I still had some naval hex decals, so I thought, let's get stupid with them,
The diffusor isn't used for this GTR model type, but why not add it anyway. The hex won't be seen on the finished model, but I know it's there. I added the inside mirror and the rest of the glass, including the turn signal lenses. Then I popped the body onto the chassis,
The lenses are a bit too yellow and I should have coated them with Tamiya's clear orange over the AK clear yellow. The windshield decal was added and the headlight decals too. I painted the backsides of headlight covers with Tamiya's smoke and then applied the decals on the outside. They were a Beatch and the right one (left in pic) started to flake up a bit. It looks likeoop:, but I couldn't do anything to fix it,
You can also see my shaky hairy stick work with the satin black. The rad looks pretty cool though! Lastly, I added the spoiler decal which was a 2 piece one. I glued the spoiler on, and......Yup, knocked it off 15 minutes later. Glued it back on and I hope it stays put now,
Overall, the GTR looks pretty good and there are only 3 pieces left to add before it's finished. The 2 outside mirrors and the windshield wiper should make it complete. I might attempt a few touch ups, but from 5 meters, it looks like a 1918, lean, mean, racing machine!!!
Ok, I'll get my coat!!!..........
The next pics will be in the ready for the bin folder proper completed GB section. A big hearty thanks to Bob for allowing me the leeway to do my nonsense with finish. Thanks, one and all for your support and comments. And all abuse is encouraged and cheerfully accepted.

A highly unusual and beautifully executed build. The decal/paint combination complement each other well. Reminds me of a stealth machine just lulling you into a false sense of security before eating you for breakfast and ejecting the remains out of its exhaust, after all things "beigey" are dull old things aren't they ?................Comment
