    Garry's 1/24 Italeri Renault R5 Alpine Rally

Thanks for setting up this GB Bob.
    This is my entry.
For the 1977 Rally season Renault developed a racing version of the R5 and achieved some success with the car.
I am planning to build the car the frenchmen Jean Ragnotti and Jean-Marc Andrié raced in the Monte Carlo Rally of 1978, in which it appears they came second 10858-rallye-automobile-monte-carlo-1978
Nothing too fancy about my build mind.
Box art, instructions, decals and sprues.

Strength isn't about what you can do, rather it's about overcoming what you thought you couldn't do.

The road car was a hoot to drive on twisty roads, my 1400 TS wasn't ultra reliable but left a lasting impression.
As an aside Renault South Africa built a couple of these in Stainless Steel - never rusted but very heavy for a small engine to propel.

They always appealed to me, even though I never owned one.
I'll try to do it justice.

Wow Noah Garry, you have picked the right kit for the GB. When it's finished, you could probably take it outside and set it in a real snowy scene for the pics. Then it would look like the box art, my friend. Stay warm...

You're right Allen, though we haven't had snow yet as we are down at the coast, but who knows, it's happened many times before. :smiling2:

I have primed the parts on the spurs, which is not something I normally do, but thought why not for a change, just to see the difference in the process.
Light grey for the body parts and black for the rest. I'm back to the airbrush now.
Of course all lit with my new Lumi lamp :smiling2:

Nice choice for the GB. I've never primed parts on the sprue so it will be interesting to see what you think of doing it.
