Got the stabiliser and rudder built, they need sanding then covering with tissue. Also got the fuselage half built. I need to put the former’s in.

Thanks Steven, but trains have an habit of derailing at times. Ha Ha.

I’ve now got all the fuselage spars fitted, the front ends need trimming then it’s ready for some sanding.

It is so cool watching this come together, Guillow's kits were made right next door in Massachusetts, so every hobby store around here carried them. Every summer vacation from school we kids in the neighborhood would build one of these kits and have dogfights to the death! My favorite was the Fw-190 (in the same series as your Spitfire). I painted it with Pactra Authentic colors in brown and green camo that was in no way authentic, but it looked cool as heck! It also added so much extra weight that the flights were short and the landings hard ? But it was immense fun that kept us occupied for quite a while.

This brings back some great memories of building one of these balsa and tissue kits with my dad a very long time ago. Ypur off to a great start I will follow along.

That'll keep you busy! Nice to see the noble art of wooden model aeroplane construction is still alive and well living at your place

                      Miko (suitably impressed)
