Greg's 1/35 Tamiya M3A1 Scout Car

Hello all,

My contribution to the four-wheels group build will be this - a 1/35 Tamiya M3A1 Scout Car.



As the kit generously comes with five Russian infantry figures, I'll be making it in a lend-lease scheme and will likely do a little display base for it.

I've started putting a few bits together for it, and so far I've found it to be surprisingly well machined, with all parts fitting very well together and few adjustments being needed. Hopefully I can do it justice!

I've made a start on this and so far it's going together nicely. The kit fits well with minimal modifications required. After putting the basic chassis together I applied some black primer, and then a coat of Tamiya Olive Drab. I wasn't happy with the outcome as the Tamiya colour always seems too dark, so I sprayed over it with some Acrylic Colour olive drab light base. It's much closer to what I had in mind. The next step it to start putting the accessories together along with the wheels.
