    ROKR 1/16 Grand Prix Car

I was given this by one of my sons for my Birthday, yesterday. He gave me the ROKR working owl clock last year. I had such fun making that, I had to got stuck into his latest offering straight away......

The pressings are Laser cut, you just pop the bits out and clean the small snots off with the supplied piece of sand paper, then all is a push fit.

    More to follow.

    Cheers.

Interesting kit Ron, amazing to see how much Grand Prix cars have changed in a hundred years.

        Hi Peter.
Good idea, but no, I'll leave it as it is.

Once completed, these kits look rather nice in the nude!

I did a couple of wooden trains last year. Good fun! You've tempted me to go look at eBay and see what's around!

A nice, well designed and relaxing build.

The parts fit are all excellent, but some are a bit brittle, so care is needed when pushing the bits together.

              Cheers.

Amazing detail really. Lots of parts. How on earth does someone design something like this.

                    Thanks boys.

Steve. The fact that the car is made of 3 ply, plywood makes the kit quite special. There is no bad cuts, the laser work is quite exceptional. No bits of ply delaminating, nothing.
The fit of the various parts is first class. You can almost hear the air escaping from the joints, such is the tightness of the fitl

Jim, yes indeed, just how such a cracking range of models was designed in the first place is hard to get around. There are loads of small bits holding big bits together too...

All good fun and well recommended as a bit of a break from 'The norm.'

                    Cheers chaps.

Seats. Each one is a wrap around affair. The laser cuts just stop short of going clean throughn the plywood, so thus become easy to bend in to shape.

I was looking at this in a shop near me just the other day. There is a great selection of subjects or varying complexity to choose from.
