Nick's Airfix OO Scale Leopard Tank (1970)

Well, thanks to Paul for suggesting this one and getting it off the ground.

I picked out two kits for this Group Build and this is the first. It's been in my possession since sometime in the 1970s and has spent most of it's life in the lofts of various houses. This GB seems like an ideal opportunity to get it done. This will be a strictly out of the box build. Here's what I've got:

    Boxart - I believe this is a 1972 boxing.....

I may not get started dead on the first, but hopefully there will be some progress at some point next week.

Welcome to anybody that cares to follow along.

Definitely a vintage kit - it just looks old. Good luck.

Yes Jim, the bit that most concerns me is the vertically split turret!

Here we go. I have made a start on this one. First thing I wanted to do was get the turret halves together and see what could be done about the seam. In fact it wasn't as bad as I was expecting as most of the turret roof is a separate part...

They all went together pretty well and I had a nice little plastic box. The detail is pretty soft though especially on things like the tools..

Only other thing I've done so far is spend an awful lot of time cleaning up 14 suspension arms. They fitted ok though....
