    Tonys Airfix Henschel hs123

Heres my contribution to this GB , the Airfix Henschel hs123. It was first released in 1970 and was a good kit for its day . I made this as a kid - it was moulded in white plastic then and did it in the spanish civil war scheme . I loved it then and now is a perfect time to revisit it.
Its got raised lines and rivets ( loads of em! ) which I think I might scale back a bit and its going to need the cockpit sorting out ( its currently a pilot and a seat/ bulkhead) Click image for larger version

A good choice for the GB. Parts look pretty clean. The panel lines and the rivets are certainly rather over done.

Nice one Tony, another interesting entry.

They did like their rivets back then didn’t they

I loved this one back in my teens, mine was light blue plastic and I think it was the first time I used the brand new Humbrol Authenticolour Luftwaffe paints .
          Looking forward to this Tony

Had a good look at this one today , not bad considering , a few ejector pin marks and a little flash here and there, would probably have been a cleaner moulding if I had got a 1970s release ( i think this one was about 1983?)
Anyways , started on the cockpit . The bulkhead and seat are usable but the seat needs a bit of reshaping , which I did with some plastic card . The seat should have bearers which will be added once its stuck to the bulkhead. I added some stringers to the fuselage sides and made the instrument panel from plastic card cut to shape and drilled for the instruments . Click image for larger version

Good work Tony. Always nice to go the extra mile with a model, gives you something unique and far more acurate.

Nice start Tony. I'm guessing with those huge inter-plane struts, you've been spared from rigging ?
