Yaks bought at cosford under a fiver build - eidai aero subaru

heres my entry to this fun build , its a rarely seen Eidai kit of the aero subaru ( fuji 200) Its a beautifully moulded little thing with fine recessed panel lines and excellent representations of the ridged control surfaces. The decals look in good nick too so theyll be getting used. Heres some pics

Well i managed to get half an hour or so in the shed yesterday and started the subaru. Ive painted the inside blue and the seats beige as per the instructions and got the instrument panel in too. This had a dry brushing to highlight the detail and has had the two control yokes stuck on . Ive now got the fuselage halves together and drying .

Well the airframe is together and seams sorted , ive had to pack the nose section with lead to prevent tail sitting and put a blanking piece behind the two intakes. I know its only supposed to be a quick build but i had to cut the square intake under the prop too as this wasnt represented by the kit. I also had to fill ejector pin marks on the tiny wheels! Next job is paint , and all the windows fit from outside so its going to be interesting masking up!

Taking shape mucker. It's good to see summat different where aircraft are concerned too.

All right Tony! I get the hint. You've shamed me into trying to put some detail in my Defiant cockpit! I've got the 1/48 version which gives plenty of information, but I won't be going overboard.

Well that looks rather nice. I've said it a few times, there's something to be said for 1:72.

Well it was a tricky mask but i managed to get some masking tape on the inside of the side windows , through the windscreen . The front and rear screens were then masked using sponge. I didnt bother with any primer as the plastic is white anyway and i didnt want to obliterate the very fine panel line detail. I sprayed it straight from the aerosol can with Halfords appliance white , giving it two light coats with an hour between. Once this has hardened thoroughly ive got the red wing tips/ rudder and nose cowling to mask up and spray , cheers tony
