    SimonT - 1/35 Tamiya MG Teams Cosford2020

First candidate is this set of Tamiya figures - not their best but not their worst either

    Will need some work

Still using my set for spare equipment as and when I need it. Can't see me ever building the figures LOL

Talk about ancient figures I never had this set, but have fond memories of building many of their contemporaries, like the Germans crowded on the back of a tank. Itโ€™ll be interesting to see what youโ€™ll manage to make out of this set.

          1974 according to the sprue

Not the best quality, but certainly not their worst either

          Equipment is average

Haven't measured it but the MG42 looks a little stumpy

            and chop his head off

once all that was done the rebuild could commence

at least it would do normally but since I am not permitted to use anything in the build that did not come in the box I had to make myself some plastic card from a length of the sprue

next I turned to the bread bag - a bit weedy and the wrong shape. Couldn't do too much apart from correct the shape a bit and add some D rings from stretched sprue

water bottle is too large but couldn't do much about that so decided to leave as is and just scrape in the cover flap and add the three buttons from stretched sprue

            part two follows shortly..........

              .......part two, the saga continues

I cut away the moulded gas mask strap and scraped the various uniform details to sharpen things up as far as possible

added strap to side of gas mask case

added D rings to the Y straps from more sprue

sanded one of the kit ammo belts thinner then sawed between each round and draped it over his shoulder

              then start to rebuild

it will need handles and clasps from sprue but I ran out of time last night

This is really looking good Simon. Brings back memories as the first set of figures I put in a dio ambushing a load of US troops in an M21.

                Cheers,
                Richard

Great to see what you're doing to tired old figures. Working your magic on figures, like you do to vehicles!

                            Hi Simon
Excellent improvements all done without recourse to your usual wire, pewter and filler.
