    Chieftain tank finished.

    So here she is.

I made this model with the NATO green/black camo, with foliage extras!

I wanted it to look like it had been really heavily used, rather than a fresh painted tank.

Extras I made were the antennas, the rubber mudflaps, hessian cover, and the foliage. Foliage was a bright green and looked really out of place, so after it had dried, I used some NATO green and then dark brown in the airbrush on a VERY low pressure to dust the foliage and change the colour,

Mud was made with Humbrol weathering powders, applied with an old brush and sprayed through with the airbrush.

All in all, I've really enjoyed this model, and will define fly be doing another tank! Or at least some mor armoured vehicles!

    Hope you like it,

Top job Dave, just the right amount of 'wear and tear'

It just needs a nice muddy base to put the icing on cake...sorry, build.

        .....and straighten that bl**dy antenna!

        Well done.

Yeah yeah I know! I took the photos and then straightened it, moved it into the house on my wheelchair and properly bent both of them again!! But with it being soft wire, it's easy to repair it back straight.

As for a diaorama base. I have really been thinking about doing one, and may well do it yet, just need some tile grout!

            Watch this space!

Im sure that many of you on here will be looking at various areas and thinking, 'I'd do that part different' and I'd really like input, how to make my models look better.

I'm enjoying building and painting, but enjoying learning and trying new things even more!

Dave we all have our ways on how we do it. Should not worry about that. That is a fine model

and you have put your mark on it.

I like the just right wear and tear you have produced. At the same time you have retained the

look of a piece of equipment which is in daily use with that sligth shine that machinery gets.

Finally if you can produce this at your stage of experience where do you go next You certainly

have a feel for it and an artists eye for detail work.

Wow, thank you for that Laurie, I really am chuffed to get these responses after a few months at modelling.

I have to say, reading the builds on here, looking at the finished models, and spending time watching the DECENT videos on YouTube, (scale model medic is really clear, concise, and easy to follow, but there are a few on there that waffle on for ten minutes about nothing to do with the model, o_O) all these things have really helped me to understand the techniques used.

That said, when I look at some of the builds on here, I am blown away! All the knowledge in the world doesn't mean I'll be able to produce some of the amazing artistic talented work you guys (and girls) do!

So to get a GREAT BUILD tag, and nice responses to my models is amazing, thank you!

thats cracking!............and i like the wobbly antenna

everybody has their own way of doing things.....and thats the fun thing about this hobby....you see how other people do things, try it next time, like it and do it again, dont like it and go back to what you do like...its all a learning process, never ends
