    1/72 Mk1 - Egyptian Expeditionary Force - Palestine

After the first overwhelming success of the first use of tanks on the western Front in September1916 the decision was made to use them in other theatres of operation. There were supposed to be twelve new MKII version delivered to strengthen the Egyptian Expeditionary Force. However, due to a mistake eight older MK1 tanks from the Bovington Tank School were sent instead. They arrived in Jan 1917 but were not used until April in the "Second Battle of Gaza" ............ Here is HMLS Sir Archibald.

The build thread is here if anyone is interested..........

Your comments. Good, Bad or Indifferent are always appreciated.

The last three photos are closest to the actual colour (the tank is Khaki Brown) ........... I' try to get a few better ones when I have some daylight.

That's very nice, great tank & figures (so small I didn't see them at first!)

The base is cool too, really sets it all off

Lovely little scene. All the work you have put into it has paid off.

I see you have used the prone figure as a dead guy.

I do like the stony groundwork and barbed wire.

Overall a great piece of modelling.

Thanks Ralph.......Your comments are appreciated. The unfortunate fellow is, or was one of the officers. Brave chap right up front..... A rather large piece of shrapnel did for him.

Now that is bloody brilliant ( I really like this and you have got action every angle you look, the tank is really well portrayed and really like the colours used. The base really brings the whole scene to life with your background story too. The soldiers have come out really well too and I really liked the dead guy ( brings the totality of what war is all about.

Deserved of more than a great build so maybe the new mods could come out with a new award?

                Well done
