First, the old, and now out-of-production BEF Miniatures beast in White metal - and it weighs a tonne! Wish I'd bought more when I found the maker at a wargames show. The kit had add-on pieces to do the MkIi with extra turret armour, and with separate tracks, there's the opportunity to cut off the front mudguards, missing frommost A13s in France. It's also the only A13 with a separate drivers' hatch and seat and floor. So I added a dashboard and control levers. Which are, of course, invisible now.
Finished as HQ Bsquadron, 3RTR, 1st Armoured, phographed abandoned on Calais docks. It should really be dirtier, dustier, going by the picture.

Markings for all of these are Mike Starmer and Dan Taylor, ostensibly1/76th! Figures are all Warlord
A13 MkIi Cruiser MkIV, A Squadron Queens Bays 2nd Armoured Brigade 1st Armoured, action at Huppy. This the Blitzkrieg models casting with one piece hull and turret, white metal barrel

A13 MkII Cruiser MkIV B Squadron 3RTR 2nd ArmouredBrigade 1st Armoured. This is the Warlord casting which has separate tracks, and three different mantlets, including a mythical CS version, whichis going on an A9 or A10 when I get to them. Also, for some unfathomable reason, this one has a separate for'ard hull piece

A13 MkII Cruiser MkIV A, B Squadron 5 RTR 3rd Armoured Brigade 1st Armoured, exercise at Thursley in Surrey. The white band was a post Dunkirk air recognition marking. Blitzkrieg again, and it's a pity their mantlets are moulded on as I need this armoured box for another BEF A10

Finally, A13 MkIi Cruiser MkIVA,RHQ, 3rd City of London Yeomanry (possibly 3RTR), 22nd Armoured Brigade, prior to transit to the Middle East. And in case you're wondering why it's shiny, some units insisted in rubbing over with machine oil. In wartime. With tankers beinh sunk left, right and Gulf of Mexico. Again, the Warlord casting, with MkIV mantlet as separate piece

Lastly, the back of the Warlord hull, with separate exhaust pipes, missing the fish tails entirely. The Blitzkrieg castings have the exhausts moulded on

Well, Ihave one more to do now, T18149 'Amy' of 1RTR Western desert. That's going to need some surgery as some photos show A13 with completely knacked suspensions

Interesting line up of characters there Chris. A bit more information would be good, like who was the manufacturer and what models of A13 they are etc....

O.K. In the meantime I'll just say that this is also a very nice collection of British Armour. Thanks Chris, for sharing them with us. Rick H.
