    Chip off the old block

My son Chris (over 40) made up this Matilda, I see he has paid a bit of attention after all.

Tell Chris he's made a fine job of it Jim. Certainly has paid attention, some neat weathering and your style of paint work.
    Think it worth the award..

      Ditto Comrade Race!

That's come out very well indeed. Tell Chris he should start posting under his own name.

That is really nice. The weathering is excellent - very realistic.

Methinks he's paid more than a bit of attention Jim. That's beautiful.

Thanks John, it brings a tear to these old eyes just knowing there is someone to carry on the legacy.

            Jim.

A "Chip"??? looks like the whole tree fell on him!!....That is a terrific result. How old was he when you first noticed he was starting to pay attention? I have a Grandson I would love to introduce to scale modeling but he is only 10 years old. Rick H.

Well, he's been tagging along since a tender age and always had a liking for armor.
Find out what subject matter might interest him and show him your workbench and do dads.

Try and get him away from video games and the like, they don't develop the brain, but destroy it.

I'm lucky enough I suppose that Chris is an armor enthusiast, but any type of modeling will do.
It teaches patience and a certain amount of personal achievement one can't get from a video game or some ludicrous
                "music" videos.
It will either click with him or not, but do put in a good effort, there are much worse "hobbies" out there
for kids to get mixed up in, that's for sure.

                Jim.

Thanks for the info Jim, I know I took a big leap in modeling interest when I turned 12 and have been at it in one way or another ever since......just not sure about kids now days. Rick H.

Well the apple fell very close to the tree in your family Jim
He has made a great job out of that.
