    Marder, Tamiya, 1/35

first kit built since my wife took seriously ill last november, and i can tell how rusty my skills are!
made lots of schoolboy errors cos i wasnt switched on as usual, but then that was the whole idea of doing this....to see just how bad my skills have become, where i need to practice, etc

the oil wash didnt work as i wanted so i gave the whole model a real good dousing in thinners to wash off the oils......this had the effect of making muddy pools in the nooks and crannies which worked somewhat

did some light misting to the lower third but didnt go as far as adding serious mud

seems strange finishing a kit and not being able to show it to Ros, she was my quality control, always keen to see whatever i had built, loved to see any little weathering tricks or additions to a kit

Sorry to hear about your wife Paul, but that's a great model, you haven't lost your skill.

Really sorry about your wife, Paul.
Nice Marder. The dirt effect is good to me and the general look of the AIFV is rather realistic: a Marder back to the barracks after a long training day.
