    Landrover WMIK:Afghanistan Airfix 1/48

Scene change here all aircraft until this one.

Loved building it. All went together well. There is no doubt there is a difference between vehicles and aircraft model making. Now which way will I go as this has provided me with a lot of satisfaction.

Is that aquarium gravel on the base?

Superbly done Laurie, great build and nicely presented with that scenery and the Merlin. I take it a Jersey beach is missing a few stones?

Wow! Really effective presentation and a great job on the models, that backdrop really adds to the realism, I think small dioramas lend themselves well to adding a narrative to the build. I'm already collecting stuff to attempt one with my current build, this inspires me to take the plunge. Nice one Laurie!

No I bought little bags of the stuff form the local model shop. But aquarium stuff probably comes form the same place Chris.

Thanks for all the thanks everyone much appreciated.

Laurie, that's a fantastic bit of "wingless" modeling you have there.

First vehicle? Seems like you're having a giggle Laurie. This definitely looks the part, the weathering is fantastic especially the dusty bottom half. I hope we see more of this from you especially an afv.

For small scale stones, I also like kitty liter. Just an idea for you for the future. Plus im sure its a lot cheaper then landscaping materials at the hobby shop, and of course aquarium gravel for larger rocks. Im just cheap I guess.

Great work Laurie. My only quibble would be the mountain on the backdrop looks a bit closer to home than Afghanistan.
