    'TRIBUTE TO MY GRANDFATHER'

This a Airfix 1/76 scale Austin A2 ambulance in desert scheme (North Africa). My Grandfather was a senior medic and drove around in one of these, he was shot at, captured and released and all with just a red-cross armband and a aid kit.

Not an easy kit for crampy, shaky old hands and ailing eyes but I have done my best in this scale.

Very nice Si. Your eyes and shaky fingers have produced a very nice model. 1/76 some nice detail for that scale. Like the sand and the worn edges, bare metal, near the doorway and mudguards. Imagine the sand storms in the desert would have "sand blasted" metal and produced the effects you have reproduced.

        Excellent tribute to your Grandfather.

Keep those fingers supple for the next one.

Very nice Si! Your grandfather would be proud of what you've done there, I might crack open a Carling & offer him a toast to his bravery

That is such a fitting tribute and what an awesome looking diorama!! I really like the weathering you have achieved on such a small vehicle kit.

I did a 1/35 tractor unit with 25pounder and tinder for my grandfather as a tribute to him as he was in the RA in Italy during WW2 and posted on here. It almost reminds he of " ice cold in Alex"

As you have said a fitting tribute

                      Well done
