    CAN'T LEAVE ALONE!

Well I am getting into these 1/16 RC tanks and have again gone back to 'Herta' the Tiger.

I have got the armoured transmission covers and the correct top hull vent cover, also got correct lights, all painted and waiting to be fitted. I have also cut out the vision slits on the side of the turret, not easy but managed just. I have also moved the RC aerial to the correct position on the right hand side-this knackered up the range and then I had issues regarding the MFU fitted...in other words it didn't work-so, that is being uprated to a 2.4 system.

There are a few bits to do but I am in two minds, there is a replicated aerial tube fitted on the left hand rear, also a replicated rear convoy light on the rear right side-these of course shouldn't be there, I was going to attempt to remove but hands are cramping like mad-so may disguise the tube using some tarp and leave the lamp alone.

Here are some 'add on' pieces.

New metal headlights, fitted and working. Also central top hull vent is now correct.

    Turret vision slits cut out.

Aerial now in correct place and painted up, just needs weathering.

Transmission armoured plates, painted and ready to be fitted.

I must admit that the modeler side has come out with always tinkering, this tank must have cost close to ยฃ200 so far and that's just in parts. I must admit I do like them though

looking amazing Si, am I to gather that heavy weathering isn't quite so common amongst the RC fraternity?

Hi, John, depends on the RC, boats tend to be clean with a few exceptions, cars and trucks tend to be clean, tanks-bit of both. Glad you like it.

              Here is a update:

Added wiring from the back of the smoke launchers, decals to helmets and fire extinguisher, top pull over net on turret, couple of sandbags, front stirrup step and glacis grab handle, aerial pennant attached.

I am on the lookout for some round plastic disks to add to the mantel lifting prongs then they are proper lifting mushrooms then she is 100% complete.

That's not a model? That is a photograph of the real thing.

Cheers Jim, I must admit it does look good rumbling along. Have also just uprated my Panther and done a bit of work on that.

Another little update and one that took me hours to do lol.

I added the small chains on the dust filter covers and also removed the right hand side convoy light, Heng Long reproduced it on both sides for some reason-snipping and a lot of delicate sanding got it smooth-painted and blended. Other side has got the blue light strips.
