    Now this was fun!!

Went to Old Buckenham Air Show yesterday, nice little show, simple and not too crowded. Saw they were doing tank rides, and I couldn't resist.

    ..

the power of these things was surprising, it could really motor!

I like it, looks you really enjoyed yourself in the Scorpion/Scimitar (I can never tell the difference) John!

I used to gun and drive a Scopion ( and Scimitar ) John, great fun and they go the same speed backwards too.

Yeah, my mate of many years served in the 16th 5th QRL, as driver, then gunner. I've heard so many stories about how these AFVs that it seemed the obvious thing to have a go! The acceleration was the biggest surprise, followed closely by the similarity to being in a boat on a pitching sea - and this was on a mostly flat field! Anyway, I got a fair few pics and have another AFV Club one to build at some point, so they'll come in handy. Which unit did you serve in?

It's a fine model, already built one for my mate, but that was in my early days, next one will be tailored to Dave's wishes!
