    Anti lasing prisms.

On my 1/16 RC ZTZ I started having an issue with the turret motor-turned out to just be a noisy motor.

Anyway, while off, I decided to add some glasswork to the cupola etc. I used an old CD, cut into it and then removed the silver backing leaving the bluish outer film layer.

This was then cut to size and fitted into the cupola, drivers port and the turret ranging port.

The colour on the picture with the barrel in focus is blue but, when it catches the light in different directions, you get slight reds and purples. Works rather well.

Looks good Si, I got some stuff from a nail art supplier which is used to wrap on nails. Just takes the model up a level doesn't it.

Certainly does Mick, nice idea using nail wraps. Being larger scale I can get away in using other stuff but for smaller scales I can see the benefit of the wraps. Glad you like it though.

It’s not a Leopard But as I said in my other thread, I decided against it because the M1 Abrams didn’t have these coatings in 1991.

Apologies for that mate. Shame they didn't have them in that time period, would have looked good.

Agreed, but they seem to have come in in the early–mid ’90s, so this model is just that little too old for them.
