    Corsica, WW2.

    Evening folks.

I'm hoping that the historians amongst you can help me out.

I have an idea for a diorama and while it doesn't have to be based in Corsica, I have an ideal location for it on the island that would also be great to recreate for me personally.

I've done some amateur interwebbing and have found that towards the end of Corsicas occupation 12,000 German troops were sent there to bolster/police the Italians.

My question is does anyone know what kind of hardware they took with them ? More specifically, would Flak 88's have been in the equation ?

    Thanks in advance.

    Dan.

    Don't worry, I've found out....

The Sturmbrigade Reichsfuher SS apparently, and they had 88's with them.

Not only that, but their route through Corsica would seem to be near enough to where I'm thinking about to make it historically possible.

    Good.

edit and by "bolster/police" I obviously mean't crush....

If I remember right, that was an 'elite' brigade - wouldn't want to be on the receiving end of them!
