Rubber tank track - help please

This has probabily been asked before but I can't find a thread that covers it.

I'm a newby to armour and have got a Sherman callope, it looked an interesting build. The problem I got is the rubber band tracks, the instructions say "seal with heat" and I can sorta see that heating the joining pin with form a rivet and hold the track together but there must be a better way and I'm worried that with my thumb fingers I'll melt the track too.

If there is a tutorial can someone please point me to it.

Any help and advice gratefully received.

    Tony.

I don't know if it can be of help... Only I build one tank but...

I joined the pieces of the track one to one with glue (not Loctite), it was a glue that melts a bit the plastic (weld). His exit is of the thickness of a pin and allows to dose very well. The time of dried is so rapid as the loctite and allows to mold a bit before drying. This way it's possible to give form together with the wheels.

I wait help a bit, I'm sorry, it is the only experience that I have...

    Regards

    Polux

I just heated the tip of a screwdriver up over the stove. Worked a treat. Hold it close to the track at first and then a quick press down on the little nub thingy and it was fine.
