ID:	1239870 Right hand side of the tank is nearly done little bit of paint touchup to do but overall the camouflage has come out pretty good just need the track painting and adding to the side then I can move onto the left-hand side

Overall this kit was very good excellent fit apart from what I pointed out earlier which was the search light housing and the toolbox. They seem to have a problem so I had to fill the gap with the filler next up was the PE. The PE was awful. It would not glue no matter how many times I etched it eventually got it to stick but the baskets lived up to their name. They were right baskets to do and then we come to the tracks well the idea behind the tracks was brilliant conception using the jig. They snapped together really easy the pins pushed into place but the tracks were held so tightly in the jig that when you pulled the track out of the jig it snapped the pins off there by allowing the to tracks fall apart again luckily, most of them are hidden by the skirts and you’ve only got just a little bit at the front and back showing

Nice finish Bigfoot, not a camo-scheme you see every day on the forum, well done ?

The Chieftain certainly looks good in Berlin camouflage, pity about the tracks.

Here’s what I liked & disliked and there’s a decal mistake on behalf of Meng as well
So I liked the following instructions clear and precise along with colour call outs when needed the type of plastic minimal clean up required the fit of the parts most are keyed si they only fit one way the track construction jig
Dislikes Tracks too tight on jig after the plastic pins have been inserted most snap off due to the force required to remove them from the jig in a lot of places i used.6mm brass rod
The PE despite etching was reluctant to stick with any sort of CA glue the Turret Baskets in particular were a right pia
Decals one was printed totally wrong see if you can spot it Click image for larger version Name:	IMG_2186.jpg Views:	0 Size:	188.0 KB ID:	1240588

Turned out lovely.Shame the kit was troublesome. The post script was welcome as ive always wanted to do a Chieftain. For my standards i think Tamiyas Golden oldie is suited to me with a bit of tinkering.
Great choice on Chally 1,I wish some company would make a real good kit of one.I know there are aftermarket stuff from Scorpion models but end up costing fortune to do kit justice.I like the Chally 1 in green in service in 1980s.Think i have some QDG markings somewhere.
Chair pulled up for this dude.

Richard also in line for being made is a Challenger 2 Desertised a Challenger 2 with TES probably do that in European / Nato camo and when it comes out, I’ll be doing a Challenger 3 assuming somebody produces one if not then a scratch built add on’s could probably be produced the main change is the Leopard 2 A7 gun be adopted in place of the current rifled one this will allow the Challenger to use Nato ammo including the smart munitions in development and the fitting of the Israeli anti misile system which is already in use on the Merkerva along with uprated engine and suspension

                        Regards

                        Colin

For the decal mistake if you look at the two yellow and white chevrons on the back of the tank the one on the left has yellow in the corners and the middle stripe the one on the right has white in the corners and a middle stripe so one of them is wrong and I suspect the one on the left is correct and the one on the right been printed back to front from the looks of it
